How To Download And Unzip Client
Okay, I've noticed that some people have been having trouble downloading/unzipping the client. Here's a tutorial to help you.
Downloading The Client:
Step 1.
First, go here.
You should see something like this:
Copy and paste one of the links surrounded by the red boxes into your address bar.
Step 2.
Now, you should be brought to a page with this on it:
Click the "Download (27.98mb)" button.
Something like this might appear, depending on your web browser settings:
If so, choose which folder you want to save the file in, click "save" and wait for the file to finish downloading.
If not, just let the file download (you should see a window with the progress of the download).
Step 3.
Now, if you chose a location for the client file to be saved into, locate that.
If not, follow these steps:
Open My Documents.
Enter the (C:) Drive.
Go into Users>Nameofcomputer>Downloads and you should find the file Peakscape Client.7zip.
You've now finished downloading the PeakScape file, and you just need to extract it.
Extracting/Unzipping PeakScape:
For the following, you will need something like winrar (download here) or 7zip (download here) if you already have one of the two, or some other program for extracting/unzipping archived files, you'll be okay.
Step 1.
Now that you've located the Peakscape Client.7zip file, and have a program to extract it, right click the file.
7zip:
If you've downloaded 7zip, you should see something like this:
Hover over "7zip", and click "Extract files..."
That should bring up a window that looks like this:
Click okay.
Wait for the folder to extract (this could take a while if you have a bad computer).
Once it's extracted, open the new folder called "PeakScape Client" (this is not the 7zip file, but the folder).
Winrar:
If you've downloaded winrar, you should see this:
Click "Extract Files..."
It should bring up this window:
Leave all the settings as they are, and click "Ok".
Wait for the folder to extract (this could take a while if you have a bad computer).
Once it's extracted, open the new folder called "PeakScape Client" (this is not the 7zip file, but the folder).
How To Play:
Once you've downloaded, extracted, and opened the folder, keep opening the folders labelled things along the lines of "PeakScape" till you reach something like this:
Now, open "1PlayHere.bat" (highlighted in red in above picture).
Don't worry if a black cmd box opens and shuts automatically, it's supposed to do that, it's a sign that the java file is on it's way.
Now, after a bit, something like this should appear:
Wait for it to finish loading.
If you don't have an account, type any username and password into the box to create one (it will not allow you to use a username that is already taken).
If you do have an account, enter your account details, and start playing!
I hope my tutorial helped, have fun playing PeakScape!
